Finance Friend ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal finance management application developed by Vinkal. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our mobile application ("App"), available on the Google Play Store under the package name com.vinkal.financefriend.

By downloading, installing, or using Finance Friend, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

Finance Friend is designed with a privacy-first, offline-first approach. Below is a transparent breakdown of the data involved when you use our App:

2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is created, entered, and stored entirely on your device. We do not have access to this data, nor is it transmitted to any server:

• Financial Data: Transaction records (income, expenses), budget settings, savings goals, bill reminders, subscription details, EMI calculations, net worth entries, and other financial data you manually enter.
• App Preferences: Theme settings, dashboard customization, notification preferences, currency settings, and display options.
• Security Data: Your app lock PIN (stored locally in encrypted form on your device).

2.2 Data Collected by Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)

Finance Friend uses Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. AdMob is a mobile advertising platform operated by Google LLC. When ads are displayed, Google AdMob may automatically collect certain information, including but not limited to:

• Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / AAID)
• IP Address: Your device's Internet Protocol address
• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, screen size, and language settings
• App Interaction Data: Information about ad impressions, clicks, and engagement within the App
• Cookies & Similar Technologies: Google may use cookies or similar technologies for ad serving and measurement

3. How We Use Information

Since Finance Friend operates primarily offline, the use of data is minimal:

4. Advertisements & Google AdMob

Finance Friend is a free application supported by advertisements. We use Google AdMob to display ads within the App.

4.1 Types of Ads

You may see the following types of advertisements:

• Banner Ads: Small ads displayed at the top or bottom of the screen
• Interstitial Ads: Full-screen ads shown at natural transition points
• Rewarded Ads: Optional ads you can choose to watch for in-app benefits

4.2 Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads

Depending on your device settings and consent preferences:

• Personalized Ads: Google may use your Advertising ID and browsing history to show ads relevant to your interests.
• Non-Personalized Ads: If you have opted out of ad personalization, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your personal data or browsing behavior.

4.3 Internet Requirement for Ads

While Finance Friend's core features work completely offline, an internet connection is required for loading and displaying advertisements. If no internet connection is available, ads will simply not be displayed, and all other App features will continue to work normally.

6. Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be fully transparent about what we do not collect directly:

• We do NOT collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identification through the App.
• We do NOT access your device contacts, camera, microphone, or GPS location.
• We do NOT track your usage behavior or create user profiles.
• We do NOT sell, rent, or share any of your locally stored data with third parties.
• We do NOT use analytics tools to monitor your in-app activity.

7. Data Export & Backup

Finance Friend allows you to export your financial data as reports. When you choose to export data:

• The exported file is saved directly to your device's local storage or download folder.
• No data is uploaded to any server during the export process.
• You are solely responsible for the security and handling of exported files.

8. Local Notifications

Finance Friend may send local notifications for bill reminders, budget alerts, savings milestones, and monthly summary reports. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any server communication, push notification services, or external data transmission.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information:

• Optional PIN lock to prevent unauthorized access to the App.
• All personal financial data stays on your device with no external transmission.
• No cloud storage means no risk of server-side data breaches.
• Security PINs are stored in an encrypted format on your device.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your device secure and use the App's PIN lock feature.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data and privacy:

10.1 Managing Your Data

• You can delete all your financial data at any time using the "Clear All Data" option in App Settings.
• You can export your data before deletion for personal backup.
• Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.

10.2 Advertising Preferences

• Reset Advertising ID: You can reset your Advertising ID through your Android device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset Advertising ID.
• Opt-Out of Personalized Ads: You can opt out of personalized ads by visiting your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
• Even after opting out, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on your data.

11. Children's Privacy

Finance Friend is not specifically designed for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. The ads displayed through Google AdMob are configured for general audiences.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has been exposed to inappropriate content through ads, please contact us, and we will take appropriate action.

12. Data Deletion

Since all your personal and financial data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over data deletion:

• Use the "Clear All Data" option in the App's Settings to erase all financial records.
• Clear the App's data from your device's system settings (Settings → Apps → Finance Friend → Clear Data).
• Uninstall the App — this permanently and irreversibly deletes all associated data from your device.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, third-party services, or applicable laws. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
